Below are some guidelines that you, as a beta, should follow when beta testing for Advent of the Mists. We also provide a submission form below for you to submit any problems in addition to sending notes to immortals.
Below are some things we need you to look for:
- Any and all spelling/grammar/punctuation errors
- Mprog and Questing errors
- Fight Code Bugs and tweaks
- Org related notes, ctells, special abilities, headquarters
- All mount, pet, packhorse related code
- Test the strength and attacks on several mobs for balance
- Test out armor and weapons, we need to know if they are too strong/weak
The Benefits of Beta Testing will be:
- All Beta Testers will be have the opportunity for leadership or high position in an org.
- Beta Testers will be allowed to keep their Beta Character and equipment (this does not
however, give them the right to harass new characters when we open) - Depending on dedication and contribution to the MUD, some Beta Testers will be considered for Immortal Positions.
Some Guidelines to follow when Beta Testings:
- Even though you are beta testing, we’d prefer to keep everything IC. And though we
are allowing killing of mobs without the severity of our intended mortal punishments, we’d prefer to keep that IC as well. Please note: mob killing will resort to regular severity once beta is over. - If you find a bug or problem, you have the option of sending a note to IMM or using the bug submission form
- The Beta Chat Channel is for Beta Testers to discuss with immortals bugs, suggestions, complaints, etc. It can also be used as minimal chat, however it will be removed once Beta is over.
- Beta Testers, who we feel are not contributing much to the Beta Test, will be removed.
- If you happen to die during the beta test, send up a pray in case an immortal is on, or send a note to IMM
