As an Immortal, you now have a volunteer job to help run the MUD. While we understand that this is absolutely volunteered with no monetary compensation, we also expect certain tasks and guidelines to be followed on a realistic basis. If these are unable to be followed, you are welcome to let us know that you would probably be better off staying a Helper instead.
What is Expected of an Immortal
- You will be available regularly (I.E. several times a week) to maintain your role as an Immortal. If you are a coder, this means you will code as time allows. If you are an RP IMM, you will be expected to be available to push RP as an Immortal as time allows. If you are a builder, this means you are expected to build as time allows, etc.
- If you are an RP IMM, you will be expected to be the front-lines of players asking for help with a storyline. This allows IMMs with other jobs to focus on theirs as well. You are expected to run storylines and engage in RP. Being an IMM will require regular participation in your duties and being active on the MUD itself (Discord does not acount)
- You will pay attention to in-game storylines and share information with the other immortals so we are all on the same page as to what is going on in-game so we can all participate in encouraging the RP
- You will give out RPP daily (1 per day) when you are available to those players that have spent significant time RPing for that day.
- You are expected to be active with your followers and help develop concepts and roleplay for your church. You will want to work with the current high priest or encourage storylines to get a high priest if you have none, so they can help you maintain and run the church.
Day in the Life of an Immortal
- Check Discord for any issues or potential Storyline Ideas. Record storyline ideas on the Storyline Page.
- Check the MUD “Checklog” command to see what commands you may have missed while offline that may pertain to storylines
- Check in with the IMM discord to see if there’s anything that you need to be aware of, or post your own comments as needed
- Interact with any active players when you are able either as an Immortal or an alt. Record any IMM interactions on the IMM interaction page.
- If an RP night is coming up, discuss with the other IMMs what ideas you have or if you need help with ideas if you are running the RP night.
- Send out RPP for players that are actively engaged in decent RP.
Guidelines for Immortals
- Check Discord and the MUD daily for any new happenings or issues that need to be addressed.
- If you stay online and go AFK, please use the [AFK] flag so players don’t try to reach out to you
- Players are not to reveal secrets about the game OOC (otherwise known as spoilers) or on Discord. Please moderate these as they happen.
- You can commune with your followers regularly as the voice of your Immortal character (either as pechos or commune). It is rare that we show up in-person, however.
- If you need to take a hiatus, please communicate with us. Communication is key.
